About the position

As the Coordinator Cleansing Services, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and managing our cleansing operations to ensure the cleanliness and hygiene of public spaces within our community. Reporting to the Manager Roads & Traffic, you will be responsible for leading a team of dedicated cleansing staff, implementing efficient workflows, and maintaining high standards of service delivery. 

 Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily cleansing activities, including street sweeping, litter collection, and public toilet maintenance.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to optimise cleansing operations, enhance efficiency, and meet service level targets.
  • Conduct regular inspections of public spaces to assess cleanliness standards and identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with other departments to coordinate special events, festivals, and community initiatives requiring cleansing support.
  • Manage the procurement of cleansing equipment, supplies, and contracted services within budgetary constraints.
  • Provide leadership and support to cleansing staff, including training, performance evaluation, and fostering a positive team culture.
  • Liaise with residents, community groups, and stakeholders to address cleansing-related concerns and promote community engagement.
  • Supervise and coordinate daily activities of the Community Recycle Centre.

About the person

The successful candidate should have the following. 

  • Extensive experience leading operational teams in service delivery
  • High level knowledge and experience in WHS relating to operational environments and heavy vehicles
  • Experience leading and mentoring a team to achieve set goals and improve performance and efficiency
  • Effective communication skills both oral and written with ability to communicate to a wide range of groups or individuals
  • Excellent computer skills and experience using a number of different systems to obtain information
  • Demonstrated strong customer service experience
  • Proven negotiation and dispute resolution skills with the ability to negotiate and influence people
  • The ability to work autonomously and make sound decisions

What’s on offer

We are offering a remuneration between $92,103.97 to $105,919.56 per annum + Super. The City of Canada Bay also offers excellent employee benefits which include:
