About the role

Are you interested in making a difference through long term strategic planning?

An exciting opportunity exists for a Senior Strategic Planner to join our Strategic Planning team.

You will contribute to the City of Canada Bay community through the preparation of Planning Proposals, Development Control Plans, Development Contribution Plans, and other land use studies, strategies and planning projects.

This position is responsible for: 

  • reviewing Planning Certificates
  • preparing exhibition material
  • providing advice to the community and other stakeholders on land use matters. 

Your proven experience in a similar position, along with your highly developed interpersonal skills, will see you succeed at Canada Bay.

About the person 

The successful candidate should have:

  • Degree in urban planning or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing the planning process, with a minimum of five years experience in planning.
  • Sound knowledge of relevant legislation.
  • Well-developed skills in the preparation of strategic planning documents and reports.
  • Highly developed verbal and written (English) communication skills, demonstrated problem solving and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage a wide range of planning projects.
  • Demonstrated experience in community consultation and presentation skills.
  • Highly developed ability to communicate effectively.

We are offering an attractive total remuneration from $48,797 to $56,117 (per annum base salary + super) for a 17.5 hour week.
