Five Dock Librarian

About the role:

This position is responsible for coordinating the day-to-day operations of the Five Dock Library to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction. Key responsibilities include overseeing library operations, managing staff, ensuring facility maintenance, and providing quality customer service.

Tasks:

  • Deliver high level customer service in a busy service environment
  • Monitor and assess library operations
  • Prioritize workflow and maintenance tasks
  • Develop and implement outreach activities and library programs
  • Analyse community needs for collection development
  • Provide advice and assistance to customers
  • Maintain statistical information and reporting mechanisms
  • Participate in service point roster system including evening and weekend shifts

About the person:

The successful candidate should have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Library and Information Studies or related field
  • Experience in public libraries and collection development
  • Proficiency in integrated library management systems
  • Demonstrated supervisory and budgetary skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and prioritization abilities
  • Current Class C Driver’s License
