About the role:
This position is responsible for coordinating the day-to-day operations of the Five Dock Library to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction. Key responsibilities include overseeing library operations, managing staff, ensuring facility maintenance, and providing quality customer service.
Tasks:
- Deliver high level customer service in a busy service environment
- Monitor and assess library operations
- Prioritize workflow and maintenance tasks
- Develop and implement outreach activities and library programs
- Analyse community needs for collection development
- Provide advice and assistance to customers
- Maintain statistical information and reporting mechanisms
- Participate in service point roster system including evening and weekend shifts
About the person:
The successful candidate should have:
- Tertiary qualifications in Library and Information Studies or related field
- Experience in public libraries and collection development
- Proficiency in integrated library management systems
- Demonstrated supervisory and budgetary skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and prioritization abilities
- Current Class C Driver’s License
