About the Position

City of Canada Bay Council is seeking an experienced and dedicated Team Leader to oversee our Water and Play Areas team. This role plays a vital role in maintaining and enhancing our community's water play spaces and recreational facilities.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Lead and supervise a team of staff responsible for the maintenance and cleaning of water play areas and playgrounds.
  • Conduct routine inspections and ensure safety standards are met.
  • Oversee the installation and maintenance of water play equipment.
  • Coordinate and allocate tasks to team members.
  • Report safety hazards and equipment issues.
  • Collaborate with management to plan and execute maintenance schedules.
  • Ensure the safety and cleanliness of recreational spaces.

Key Challenges:

  • Managing a team in outdoor conditions, including exposure to water and various weather conditions.
  • Ensuring the safety and cleanliness of play areas, especially during peak usage times.

Decision Making:

  • Prioritising tasks and allocating resources.
  • Reporting safety hazards and equipment issues.

Essential Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a supervisory or team leader role.
  • Physically fit and able to perform manual labour.
  • A strong commitment to workplace safety.
  • Ability to work well in a team and provide leadership.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

What’s on offer

We are offering an attractive total remuneration from $67,837.41 to $78,013.02 + Super.
