Planning Assistant - Statutory Planning

Job No. CB18182

$69,814 - $80,286 per annum + super

Full Time Permanent

35 hours per week

Participation in Council's 9 day fortnight scheme

 

Are you a currently enrolled in a town planning degree course or a degree course in a similar discipline and able to take on full-time work in conjunction with your studies? Or do you have a keen interest in development and planning related issues and would like to pursue a career in planning?  Are you looking for the challenge of working with a group of energetic and enthusiastic statutory planners? If the answer is yes, then keep on reading as we have the job for you!

Working as part of our statutory planning team, your responsibilities are varied in this strong customer focused role. Using your excellent attention to detail, you will check and review all planning applications as they are lodged via the NSW Planning Portal for completeness and accuracy, and provide administrative assistance to the Statutory Planning Team in relation to the monitoring and processing of development and other applications. You will also assist the Manager and the Coordinators in developing efficiencies and improvements to the team’s procedures with the aim of reducing processing times whilst maintaining quality assessment outcomes.

Your role also includes monitoring and updating development assessment related information on Council’s web page and using Council’s computer systems for the tracking of planning applications and to achieve process improvements.

  • Strong organisational and customer services skills
  • Experience in working in a diverse team in an administrative/organisational capacity
  • Confidence in dealing with the public and a tactful approach.
