About the Position
City of Canada Bay Council is seeking an experienced and dedicated Team Leader to oversee our Water and Play Areas team. This role plays a vital role in maintaining and enhancing our community's water play spaces and recreational facilities.
Key Accountabilities:
- Lead and supervise a team of staff responsible for the maintenance and cleaning of water play areas and playgrounds.
- Conduct routine inspections and ensure safety standards are met.
- Oversee the installation and maintenance of water play equipment.
- Coordinate and allocate tasks to team members.
- Report safety hazards and equipment issues.
- Collaborate with management to plan and execute maintenance schedules.
- Ensure the safety and cleanliness of recreational spaces.
Key Challenges:
- Managing a team in outdoor conditions, including exposure to water and various weather conditions.
- Ensuring the safety and cleanliness of play areas, especially during peak usage times.
Decision Making:
- Prioritising tasks and allocating resources.
- Reporting safety hazards and equipment issues.
Essential Requirements:
- Previous experience in a supervisory or team leader role.
- This role would suit a jack-of-all-trades, carpenter or a general fixer.
- Physically fit and able to perform manual labour.
- A strong commitment to workplace safety.
- Ability to work well in a team and provide leadership.
- Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

What’s on offer
We are offering an attractive total remuneration from $70,211.72 to $80,743.48 + Super.
