Coordinator- Information Management (Records)

About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled Coordinator, Information Management (Records) who will be responsible in administering Council's records and information management and managing the routine operational matters such as the maintenance of Council's Legal Register. 

In this position you will play a critical role by doing the following (and not limited to):

  • Provide a timely and reliable records, document and information service to all customers both internal and external.
  • Review and implement agreed recommendations in order to ensure Council's records and documents management system is being fully utilised at all times.
  • Manage the Records sub-program as outlined in the Management Plan.
  • Provide guidance and support to staff and management in the use of Council’s electronic document management system
  • Establish positive working relationships and open communication channels with other business teams within Council
  • Be responsible for the overall financial management of the Records section
  • Support management in the process of workplace reform, service competitiveness and the achievement of objectives 

About the person

To be successful in this position, you will have:

  • Qualification in a technology related field or other related area
  • Significant demonstrated experience in information management in a local government environment
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and coordinate input from multiple sources to achieve project outcomes
  • Demonstrated experience leading and mentoring technical staff
  • Previous experience with document/records management systems and desktop applications, preferably Microsoft Office and associated Local Government applications
  • Excellent organisational and analytical skills including the ability to manage a team to meet set outcomes within agreed timeframes
