About the role

Our Sustainability Team has expanded, and we are looking for a motivated and energetic team player to join our high performing team.

In this role, you will deliver projects identified in Environmental Strategy, Emissions Reduction Action Plan, Litter Strategy, and Climate Resilience Framework.

Some of the main priorities of the role include:

  • Environmental and climate resilience reporting
  • Delivering community environmental programs to reduce greenhouse gas emissions
  • Supporting Council teams internally to improve corporate environmental sustainability

About the person 

You will come to us with:

  • 2 years practical and relevant work experience in the field of environmental sustainability, natural resource management or have similar transferable skills.
  • Tertiary qualifications and/or experience relevant to environment, engineering, engagement or sustainability fields.
  • Ability to analyse data, manage databases and prepare reports for environmental management using a variety of computer programs
  • Demonstrated experience in project management and the ability to undertake several successful projects simultaneously with exceptional time management skills
  • Excellent communication skills including the confidence to deal with the community and other departments within the organisation.
  • The ability to work both autonomously, use initiative to problem solve and work collaboratively in a team environment

You will be motivated, passionate and willing to learn new skills.

This position will involve community meetings outside of normal business hours, which requires some night and weekend work.
