About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated Engagement Officer to join the Communications and Engagement team. This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with the team to support and facilitate a range of key functions.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Support the development and implementation of community engagement strategies and approaches in line with Council’s Community Engagement Strategy, and assist to meet and deliver on the Community Strategic Plan
- Develop engagement materials and collateral and coordinate the printing and distribution of these materials
- Assist teams to map stakeholders for community engagement projects and determine appropriate methods to notify and engage each stakeholder group
- Carry out administrative tasks including coordinating letterbox drops, community email notifications and updates
- Coordinate with project managers to ensure projects on Council’s engagement website are up to date
- Monitor and evaluate stakeholder engagement projects providing ideas for continuous improvement
- Support the analysis of feedback and reporting
- Assist project managers with face-to-face consultation events
- Manage the community engagement event equipment
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive community stakeholder database
About you:
- Degree (or similar) qualifications or relevant experience
- Qualifications in a related field is preferred
- Experience in communication, community engagement or public relations
- Excellent written and spoken language skills in English
- Skills and knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, design related Adobe software with basic skills in graphic designing and website management
- Fluency in Mandarin, Cantonese, Korean or Italian is preferred
- Experience in stakeholder management, negotiation and influencing skills including proven ability to exercise sound judgement in facilitating stakeholder engagement
- Experience in communication and report/proposal writing
- Experience in research, analysis and preparation of policies, documents, and reports
- Current “Class C” Driver’s Licence
