About the role
Our Project Management Office is seeking a Project Manager who will provide service-oriented approach of management to all stages of the project delivery cycle, to ensure projects are delivered to the agreed brief, timeframes, and budget. This includes accountabilities for all aspects of project outcomes, from project initiation through to delivery and project closure and seamless transition to the asset owner.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement quality control processes and conduct regular reviews to identify areas for improvement.
- Facilitate post-project evaluations to capture lessons learned and drive continuous improvement.
- Managing change by implementing change management strategies to facilitate smooth adoption of project outcomes.
- Proactively participate in project assurance and health checks.
- Maintain accurate project documentation and ensure proper record-keeping through Council’s adopted system.
- Coordinate and communicate with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring clear understanding of project goals and progress.
- Allocate and manage resources, including personnel, equipment, and budget, to ensure project success.
- Optimise resource utilisation to achieve project objectives within budget constraints.
- Work across Council to ensure the appropriate internal teams/resources are engaged in the development and delivery of the project.
About the person
To be successful in this position, you will have:
- Bachelor’s degree, Engineering, Project or Construction Management, Business, or in a public administration related field.
- Australian Institute of Project Management (AIPM) certification or equivalent preferred.
- Proven experience in successfully managing and delivering projects within a government or public sector context.
- Strong understanding of local government operations, regulations, and decision-making processes.
- Excellent organisational, leadership, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in project management tools and software.
- Current Class “C” Drivers Licence
- Workcover accredited Construction Induction (White) Card
