About the role

We are currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Program Officer - Project management Office Strategy & Coordination. The program Officer will support the delivery of Capital Works projects across the City of Canada Bay and will provide support projects enterprise wide for all directorates across Council.

 On a daily basis you will: 

  • Support PMO Operations: Assist in the daily operations of the Project Management Office, focusing on project and grants management frameworks.
  • Advanced Writing Skills: Prepare and review grant submissions, interoffice memos, and grant variations for the City Assets directorate.
  • Strategy Development: Provide input on, and support the delivery of Masterplans, Plans of Management and Council’s strategic documents.
  • Capital Works Coordination: Aid in planning and developing materials for the capital works program to ensure timely identification and execution.
  • Project Analysis and Reporting: Analyse current projects for future planning, update templates, and produce key reports, including grant reporting and PSC performance packs.
  • System Administration: Provide administrative support for the Project Management System (PMO 365) and assist project managers with data entry and system updates.
  • Budget and Financial Monitoring: Support and administer the Quarterly Budget Review process, and CAPEX Pipeline development, monitor project financials, and develop project budgets in consultation with stakeholders.

About the person 

  • Current C class driver’s licence. 
  • Understanding in capital work project methodologies & delivery.
  • Ability to work strategically and collaboratively across departments to achieve deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills demonstrated by the ability to manage various stakeholders, resolve conflicts and negotiate appropriate outcomes. 
  • Excellent ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, as well as excellent presentation skills
  • A demonstrated understanding of the current political, economic and social issues and future challenges in Local Government
