About the role
As Coordinator for Library Technology & Innovation, you will play a critical role in ensuring the effective planning, management, and delivery of innovative technologies to support a contemporary library service.
Key responsibilities, not limited to:
- Provide leadership and change management across the Library Team for effective enhancement, and adoption of library systems and technology
- Collaborate with internal departments and external contractors, and the community to ensure systems and technology is fit for purpose and complies with relevant standards and Council’s systems
- Assess, plan, implement, manage and maintain technology-based library solutions to maximise the benefit gained by staff and customers
- Manage contracts, tenders, and procurement processes related to technology projects and maintenance, ensuring compliance and effective vendor performance
- Manage budget allocations for library systems and technology, monitor expenditures, and optimize resource allocation
- Extract and analyse data from the libraries’ systems to determine usage and effectiveness of library services and resources
- Assist with delivery of technology-based library programs in consultation with the Library Operations Manager and Library Programs Manager
- Participate in the service point roster system, including evening and weekend work at designated service points to ensure quality customer service to members and visitors
About the person
To be successful in this position, ideally you will have:
- Tertiary Qualifications and/or equivalent experience in information technology, computer science or a related field
- Demonstrated skills and experience in information technology planning and analysis including identifying benefits of potential solutions to library systems and community outcomes
- Ability to advocate for the use and benefits of information technology in libraries for process improvement and community benefits and outcomes
- Well-developed skills in research, analysis and preparation of high-quality strategies, project plans, documents and reports
