Coordinator Infrastructure Design

About the role

The Coordinator Infrastructure Design is responsible for providing strategic stewardship of Council’s road infrastructure, supporting the review and ongoing development of Council’s Asset Management Plans to inform the Long-Term Financial Management Plan and ensure community objectives are achieved at the lowest lifecycle cost.

Key responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Developing and prioritising Capital Works Programs for road infrastructure, taking into account asset condition, funding availability, and resource capacity. 
  • Leading the coordination, design, and delivery of projects within the approved Capital Works Programs.
  • Providing expert technical advice on road infrastructure maintenance, design standards, development controls, and policy development to support informed decision-making across the organisation.  
  • Initiating communication, consultation and liaison with residents, other Government agencies and
    external organisations 
  • Collaborating and communicating with City Assets staff and others within the organisation to create an
    enthusiastic and motivated atmosphere where staff work with a sense of urgency.

About the person 

To be successful in this role you will need: 

  • Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering or related field, and/or extensive equivalent experience
  • Comprehensive knowledge and experience in civil design, asset management and delivery of various civil works
    programs
  • Extensive experience in project management, including programming and coordination, budget
    control, preparation of tenders and contract administration, consultant’s briefs and grant
    applications
  • Knowledge of Asset Management Systems, Maintenance Management Systems and Asset
    databases
  • Demonstrated experience in the collection and analysis of qualitative and quantitative research.
  • Current Class ‘C’ Driver’s License.
