About the role

This position serves as the main point of contact for the successful management of the Council meetings and workshops from initial planning phases through to function delivery and completion. This position will work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders and support the coordination of Council meetings and workshops.

  • Acts as the point of contact during the meeting/workshops
  • Ensuring all catering requirements for meetings and workshops are arranged.
  • Set-Up and Pack-Down of furniture and equipment before and after.
  • Adapt and handle changes or unexpected situations that may arise during the meeting/workshop.
  • Ensure compliance with hygiene and health and safety legislation and guidelines.
  • Ensure a high standard of venue presentation and cleanliness.
  • Work independently, take initiative and achieve tasks autonomously.
  • Undertake any other duties as may be requested for the smooth operation of the meeting/workshop.

Hours of work: On council meeting/workshops dates from 4:45pm – until pack down, following the end of the meeting/workshop.

About the person 
The successful candidate should have:

  • Quick thinking and the ability to troubleshoot issues on the spot.
  • Demonstrated organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • A professional and proactive approach with a positive attitude.
  • A genuine passion for providing excellent customer service.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Smart-casual attire required.
  • Currently hold, or willing to obtain, a Responsible Service of Alcohol Certificate and Food Safety Certificate.
  • Previous experience in a restaurant, hospitality, or event setting (desired).

What’s on offer

We are offering an hourly rate between $32.75- $37.66+ 25% casual loading and penalties.
