About the role

This position is responsible for leading the development and delivery of engaging technology-based programs that promote creative and lifelong learning in the community. The role oversees the makerspace, manages equipment and resources, and ensures the implementation of innovative digital and physical technologies in library programs.

On a daily basis you will:

  • Coordinate, deliver, and evaluate STEAM and technology programs for a wide range of community groups
  • Manage the makerspace and maintain creative technologies and equipment including 3D printers, digital music production tools, VR/AR equipment and smart devices
  • Lead and support a team of staff to deliver high-quality learning programs and customer service

About the person

The successful candidate will have previous experience developing and delivering technology or digital media programs in a library, education or community learning setting. It is preferred but not essential for applicants to have a tertiary qualification in library/information studies, digital media, community development or education.

Experience

  • Delivering innovative digital learning programs for diverse audiences
  • Leading a team and managing program logistics, budgets, and stakeholder relationships

Qualification

  • Tertiary qualification in relevant field or equivalent experience
  • Working with Children Check
  • Class C Driver’s Licence

Skills

  • Broad experience with creative technologies (e.g. 3D printing, Arduino, coding, wearables, VR/AR, music production)
  • Strong organisational and project management abilities
  • Excellent communication, training, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to translate emerging technologies into inclusive, accessible community programs

What’s on offer

We are offering an attractive total remuneration from $104,041 to $119,647 (plus 12% super).
