Five Dock Leisure Centre (FDLC) is a community focused leisure centre located in Sydney's thriving inner west. The Centre caters for over 450,000 visits per year, and comprises of a competition standard Gymnastics Hall, a two court Stadium which caters for indoor soccer, netball, badminton and basketball, as well as a leading Health Club comprising of two group fitness studios, cardio and weights areas.

 The Five Dock Leisure Centre attracts over 1400 gymnasts annually, catering for gymnasts from 18 months to Adult. The Centre has a large recreational gymnastics program and competitive program catering for state, national and international streams.

About the role

Our Gymnastics department is currently recruiting for Gymnastic Coach to deliver safe, fun, and engaging gymnastics classes for school-age children (typically 5–18 years) and adults, following the club’s curriculum and values. The role focuses on fostering physical development, confidence, and enjoyment in a positive and inclusive environment.

Within the area of responsibility, this role will (not limited to):

  • Lead or assist in coaching recreational gymnastics classes for school-age children and Adult classes.
  • Teach skills appropriate to age and ability, using safe progressions and techniques.
  • Implement lesson plans aligned with the club’s curriculum and program goals.
  • Ensure all sessions start and finish on time and maintain good class flow.
  • Ensure a safe training environment at all times.
  • Conduct equipment checks and set-ups prior to class. Pack up after cluss.
  • Follow all club policies and procedures especially on injury management, supervision, and child Safety
  • Maintain all required qualifications: Current First Aid, CPR Certificate and Gymnastics Australia Accreditation
  • Build positive relationships with gymnasts and their families.
  • Communicate with team leaders or coordinators about concerns, injuries, or incidents.
  • Attend relevant training and team meetings to stay updated on curriculum and best practices.
  • Complete various programming, admin or miscellaneous tasks as needed.

About the person 
To be successful in this role, the candidate should have:

  • Hold or working towards a current Gymnastics Australia Accreditation 
  • Current Provide First Aid and CPR Certificate
  • A current Working with Children Check clearance
  • Proven experience in excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to collaborate across departments and communicate effectively at all levels.

We are offering an attractive total remuneration from $56,618 to $65,092 (pro rata) + super.
