About the role

The Partnerships & Fundraising Coordinator role is responsible for the development and implementation of Kokoda Track Memorial Walkway (KTMW) Partnerships and Fundraising Program. This position will identify and deliver sponsorship, fundraising and grant opportunities to support the delivery of KTMW’s events, activities and programs, working closely with the Chair and the Secretary of the KTMW Board.

Key Responsibilities (not limited to):

  • Develop, implement, and manage KTMW’s new partnerships strategy.
  • Research and identify potential sponsors, create tailored partnership proposals, deliver compelling presentations, and negotiate long-term, mutually beneficial sponsorship agreements.
  • Ensure timely and effective delivery of sponsor benefits and maintain strong, ongoing sponsor relationships through regular communication and updates.
  • Identify and pursue alternative funding sources, including donations and grant opportunities, to support KTMW’s programs, events, and financial sustainability.
  • Maintain accurate records and data on all sponsorship proposals, funding agreements, and grants, ensuring all key deliverables are met by both KTMW and its partners.
  • Develop and implement annual sponsorship and fundraising plans, including measurable financial targets, and regularly monitor progress.
  • Evaluate and report on the performance of KTMW’s partnerships and fundraising initiatives, identify areas for improvement, and provide strategic advice to the leadership team.

About the person 
To be successful in this position, ideally you will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in communications, marketing, business, fundraising or similar.
  • Proven experience in sponsorship and partnership management and/or fundraising, including securing, managing, and retaining sponsors or donors.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify new partnership opportunities and develop innovative proposals and marketing materials.
  • Exceptional oral, presentation, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong capability in building and maintaining key stakeholder relationships to achieve outcomes, address challenges, and anticipate community and partner needs.
  • Successful track record in community fundraising, donor relations, and delivering positive revenue results.
  • Current “Class C” Driver’s Licence.

We are offering an attractive total remuneration from $62,428 to $71,790 annual salary plus super.
