About the role

Are you passionate about making a real difference in your community? Join our Resource Recovery and Waste Services team, where you’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality waste services for residential and commercial customers. You’ll have the opportunity to improve services through innovative solutions, data-driven insights, and customer education, while gaining hands-on experience in contract management and operational delivery.

Key Accountabilities: 

  • Manage all waste-related tasks and customer requests, ensuring timely and high-quality service.
  • Respond to residential and commercial service requests, process applications, and coordinate charge updates with Finance.
  • Liaise with stakeholders and contractors to resolve issues and maintain agreed service standards.
  • Assist with waste audits, performance evaluations, and contractor monitoring to improve service quality.
  • Develop and maintain templates, forms, and communications for waste services, including letters, emails, and website content.
  • Conduct bin audits, reconcile data, and resolve discrepancies between contractor databases and rating notices.
  • Support database management and implement best practice systems to improve team efficiency.
  • Review and update processes and procedures to ensure alignment with Council policies and continuous service improvement.
  • Assist with contract administration for residential waste services and ensure compliance with procurement policies.
  • Implement waste and recycling projects to enhance Council services and community outcomes.
  • Reconcile invoices, resolve billing issues, and maintain accurate financial records related to waste services.

About the person 

The ideal candidate is an organised, proactive professional with experience in waste management and contract administration and will have:

  • Qualifications in waste management, contract management, business administration, or a related field, or at least 3 years’ experience in waste contract administration.
  • Strong organisational and customer service skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and handle challenging situations.
  • Knowledge of waste operations, contract administration, and resource recovery.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team while exercising discretion, confidentiality, and initiative.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report writing.
  • High computer literacy, especially in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Technology One.
  • Current ‘Class C’ driver’s licence.

We are offering an attractive total remuneration from $86,495 to $99,469 plus super.
