About the role
Health & Fitness Team Group Fitness Instructor’s primary purpose is to provide excellent customer service and unique fulfilling member experiences through developing and delivering specialised Group Fitness Classes which play a key role in the retention of Health Club members at the Concord Oval and Rhodes Recreation Centres.
Key Accountabilities:
- Deliver engaging, science-based group fitness classes with excellent customer service and teamwork
- Design and teach safe, inclusive classes that meet Centre guidelines and community needs
- Create unique, motivating experiences using fitness expertise, creativity, and personality
- Monitor participant safety and recommend suitable class options when needed
- Support membership retention, revenue growth, and overall Health & Fitness goals
- Maintain current qualifications and deliver programs to required standards
- Promote and support Centre initiatives, events, and member engagement
- Collaborate across teams and foster positive relationships with members and community partners
- Commit to ongoing professional development and uphold workplace safety and ethical standards
- Ensure the Health Club and equipment are clean, safe, and well-maintained
About the person 
The successful candidate will have:
- Minimum Certificate III Qualification in Fitness or equivalent Industry qualifications and or equivalent experience in a sports science and/or management related discipline
- Minimum of 2 years demonstrated experience in a Health and Fitness industry
- Previous experience in building a successful Classes and Timetable spots
- Proven experience in excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated experience in providing and carrying out member retention initiatives
- Accredited Fitness Leader Qualification desirable
- Accreditation in additional speciality areas, such as pre- and post-natal, sports and conditioning coaching, nutrition etc
- Current First Aid and CRP Certification
- Working with Children Clearance
